Confrontation of Islamic and Modern culture and civilization is the most important issue of the day. Knowledge and sciences are the main obstacles in the design and analysis of each culture. Therefore, the confrontation between Islamic and modern knowledge and sciences is one of the essential issues in academic centers, especially in Iran which is considered as the leading society in the renovation of the Islamic new civilization. Different writers are concerned about this subject. One of them is Khaki, the writer of Tahlile Howiate Elme Dini and Elme Modern (Analysis of the Identity of Religious and Modern Science.). Regarding the importance and controversies of ideas in this issue, this article aims to criticize this book’s features and contents. In analyzing the content of the book, we are looking for its logical and systematic harmony in the principles and the results presented by the writer. A summary of different sections of the book is presented, followed by their critics. The writer criticizes modern sciences regarding three historical phases of the scientific revolution, positivism, and post-positivism, epistemologically and puts forward his proofs in favor of value-oriented characteristics of modern science. He points to the criteria of its value-oriented characteristic as well. The writer believes that there is no change without direction. So, all scientific issues are goal-oriented regarding the macro interpretation of individual and society’s definition and destiny. Regarding this issue, modern sciences are not useful as software for producing Islamic civilization even when they act as an obstacle in this issue. The book is a good summary and presentation of materials of Farhangestane Olome Islami which are available in their publications in different levels.

This article reviews the Reality and the Method of Explaining Human Action in the Framework of the Islamic Philosophy: A Fundamental Theory in the Humanities book. To reach the Islamic civilization, the necessity for producing Islamic social science and humanities became obvious after Islamic Revolution. Accordingly, several approaches were developed by different experts. One of them is to produce Islamic social science on the basis of Islamic Philosophy. The reviewed book tries to develop Islamic Humanities philosophy according to Molla Sadra’s philosophy. Unfortunately, the writer, assuming 'human action' as the subject of the social science and humanities, uses the Sadra’s philosophy to introduce a new Islamic social science and humanities philosophy. There are four well-designed chapters in the book. Starting form philosophy of the philosophy of Islamic humanities, the writer analyzed 'human action fact' according to an assumed framework of Sadra’s philosophy. Fundamental philosophic assumptions are presented in the third and some methodological findings in the last chapter. However, the writings need to be reviewed according to Persian literature; some new understandings have been resulted. The necessity of Islamic social science, the multiplicity of individual, society, social science and humanities, the importance of agency and structure according to Molla Sadra’s view, and gradual evolution of them are the findings of the book. Meanwhile, the book produces some valuable lights and shades on analyzing individual, society and social science using Molla Sadra’s philosophy.

In modern history, Islamic societies are under the subjugation of European nations. This causes their political, cultural, and economic dependency. Islamic Revolution's emancipation prescription to Islamic nations is the renovation of their social science based on Islamic principles in order to be able to manage their countries according to independent political, cultural, and economic knowledge. There are different streams of thought in Iran developed according to this policy. The reviewed book is written on the basis of one of them. As a text book, it is well designed, however, regardless of the writer's effort to get along with Islamic principles and values, the book has several weaknesses and confusions. The main issue is lack of enough attention to the difference between ontology and epistemology which underpinned the secular and Islamic methodology. The book's suggestion is to mix these methods regardless of their fundamental differences. The other problem is its suggestion to extract uncertain original bases of social sciences off the Islamic texts and try to reach certainty by experimental current methods. This means to dominate experimental secular results over Islamic texts. The suggested method causes to cover those current secular understanding of social science whose positions are not clear to Islamic values, with an Islamic layer.

The aim of the present study was a review of “Conceptual Creative Realism” as a methodological model of Islamic science (Iman & Kelateh Sadati, 1392). The model had some strong points including a new presentation of science structure as well as a new definition congruent with the Islamic point of view entered in a new paradigm. Besides, the model defined hierarchy of knowledge in different ways where the God’s laws would be at the top of this hierarchy. Reality is further up observations and objective experiences as well as the correct criterion defined according to Islamic direction. o On the contrary, the model had some drawbacks including speaking in general, not specified, and missing links between the different concepts, as well as having ambiguity responding how we can specify the borders between different knowledge sources such as sensation experiences, wisdom, and intuition. In sum, the evaluated model seems to be an effective model which contributes to the Islamic science.
